چکیده
When cartilage-like tissue is present in the synovial membrane of joints, it known as chondromatosis (SC). The main cause believed to be metaplasia embryonal mesenchymal membrane. metaplastic foci grow within joint space and can detach from wall, forming free-floating bodies. While SC more commonly associated with trauma temporomandibular (TMJ), exact relationship between remains unclear. Improved diagnostic techniques, such CT MRI, have led increased recognition TMJ. Gender differences prevalence TMJ been observed, women being affected. Diagnosis involves imaging techniques like X-rays, scans, MRIs, surgical removal loose bodies preferred treatment. Arthroscopy recommended for small, isolated bodies, while open surgery may necessary complete removal. Long-term follow-up essential monitor recurrence. Histopathological findings reveal a mixture cartilage bone, ossification calcification present.

Temporomandibular joint synovial chondromatosis.
Synovial chondromatosis (SC) is a rare, benign cartilaginous metaplasia that affects the joints, usually only one joint. Chondromatosis is a hard to diagnose disease because of its somewhat vague symptoms, especially those in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which does not fit those from the most prevalent disease sites (knee, elbow and shoulder). There is only one case of TMJ chondromatosis ...

Synovial chondromatosis is a cartilaginous metaplasia of the mesenchymal remnants of the synovial tissue of the joints. Its main characteristic is the formation of cartilaginous nodules in the synovium and inside the articular space (loose bodies). Synovial chondromatosis mainly affects big synovial joints such as the elbow and knee and is uncommon in the temporomandibular joint. The main sympt...
متن کاملSynovial chondromatosis of the temporomandibular joint. A case report.
The study describes a rare clinical case of synovial chondromatosis of the temporo-mandibular joint, in a 53 year-old patient. In the prehospital stage, the patient was examined by additional diagnostic methods – 3D CT and subsequent computer simulation, in view of subsequent surgery. In January 2015, partial synovektomy of the right temporo-mandibular joint with removal of cartilaginous impuri...
متن کاملSynovial chondromatosis of the temporomandibular joint with intracranial extension.
We present a rare case of synovial chondromatosis of the left temporomandibular joint with intracranial extension and review the relevant literature. This is the sixth published report of such a skull base tumour. We discuss imaging characteristics and the differential diagnosis with regards to a curative surgical resection.
